Jokes aside, I’m an investor and former fintech operator with experience across product, operations, and customer success. While working at my first startup, I’ve also pursued my own entrepreneurship through acquisition hobby through the purchase of an SMB in early-2023, earning back my original investment within two years.
I enjoy angel investing (see further below for my portfolio) and supporting founders as a brainstorming partner and connector as they build the future.
These days I'm busy building La Frontera: a newsletter, podcast, and community dedicated to highlighting early-stage founders and investors across the Americas.
As an Investor at Outside VC, I deployed $100K-$250K checks into pre-seed and seed-stage FinTech and ClimateTech startups. Over two months, I evaluated 45+ companies and made five investments, 3x typical throughput.
I angel invest in startups. I’ve sourced and invested in early-stage startups that were also invested in by YC, Techstars, Village Global, and Laconia. With one exit (18x return) within a year of investing and another portfolio company profitable at $1M+ ARR (7.5x revenue growth within a year), I'm more excited than ever about continuing to find and help founders I believe in.
I co-founded La Frontera 🌵, a podcast about the people shaping the early-stage startup and venture capital ecosystem across the Americas. We feature founders, investors, and ecosystem builders from across the region to share insights, lessons, and opportunities. At Sunny Day Fund (Techstars ’21), I was the first Product Manager. I led the Product, Engineering, and Customer Success functions. I worked with the engineers to build our product, our clients to implement, and our customer success and support teams to provide ongoing support to our customers.
At Blaze (YC S24), I did growth & operations, setting up financial operations, fundraising prep, and compliance.
I acquired and turned around an SMB, growing revenue to seven figures within two years (32% YoY growth) and earning my initial investment back within those two years.
At Fannie Mae, I co-founded a product that secured CFO sign-off and launched company-wide.
I enjoy hosting meetups and events and have brought together operators, founders, and investors across multiple cities (i.e. NY, DC, SF, Mexico City, Medellin, and Bogota). I most recently hosted an IRL coffee chat event called “Series B(ean)” in NY for NY Tech Week — see below for a picture from the event 📸
